Every year, people in communities throughout Oregon volunteer their time to help local kids get SMART.

Their Words

"My son Alan was in the bottom 10% for reading ability when he started with SMART. He was a second grader. He didn’t like school. He didn’t like reading. But the days he read with a SMART volunteer were always easier.

Today, Alan is a semi-finalist for the National Merit Scholarship. His overall PSAT scores were in the top 1% of all U.S. high school juniors who took the test. I attribute his success to his teachers and to SMART."
